Misc. quickies....

Evening!  Tonight I did a card workshop with a group of ladies. It was so nice seeing everybody and creating cards!  We made 3 cards and a little treat holder. Being a workshop I have to keep things simple but fun. So we go for techniques usually. Here is what we created tonight:

Details: Sentiment is from Verve stamps. The paper is from Close to my heart. The flower is made from fabric. I bought fat quarters and cut them into about 1 - 1 1/2 in. strips. Used Fabri-tac by Beacon, then twisted the fabric around.

I got this idea from Tresa Blacks blog. She is always doing some amazing things. The techique for the skull stamp is "Josephs Coat".  We stippled multiple colors onto white cardstock then stamped the Skull stamp from "Thriller by Close to my Heart" in versamark . We put clear embossing powder over it. Took a brayer  inked up in black and ran it across a few times. The wiped away the black ink from the embossed image.  The stamp is the Stamp of the Month from Close to my Heart, Thriller. The papers are from Close to my heart.  The flower is the rolled flower techinque.

The little bat was downloaded  from Skip To My Lou. The sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michaels!!  There is another cute idea on Skip to my Lou to take the Hershey bar and white crepe paper and wrap it around it like a mummy and have the eyes sticking out. So cute!

Last but not least. This background idea was lifted from Debbie Olson.  I don't think I did it anyway like she did. I improvised and did it my own way and completely different. But I still got a similiar effect. Not the same, but close. We randomly stamped "Nature's Vein" stamp from Close to my heart on 140 lb watercolor paper. After inking up the stamp, I gave the stamp one little squirt of water and the stamped on the paper. After all the random stamping was complete. I sprayed lots of water on to the paper, turned it over and rubbed it off onto a scrap piece of paper. That's basically it. I love the vivid colors. Thats what drew me to Debbie Olson in the first place.

Ok, not my usually types of cards, but thought I would share what I do for workshops or craft days!

Thank you,
