Thinking Spring!

Good morning! I had a little hiccup on my blog this morning. My post was all scheduled and it posted with NOTHING..seriously. What's up with that? It was there, and then it was gone???

Needless to say It's killing me to get on here and write this. I have been in bed sick for 2 days going on 3 now. Doc could do a throat culture because the lab guys were gone, but the believes it's strep throat, well whatever it is I am MISERABLE. Like, really miserable. I have allergy issues usually and that is about the only thing I normally get sick with. So yes, I have been a big baby. Plus it doesn't help that I have SO MUCH to do this week. Well it's not getting done.

So this weeks challenge with Magnolia-licious Challenge blog is and inspiration challenge.

Lovely picture, isn't it. I'm sure most people are eagerly awaiting spring, not I!  We have yet to have any winter weather here in Florida and I am not looking forward to what the spring or summer is going to bring.

For this challenge I used Tilda Loves Flowers and colored her up with some copic markers. Those lovely papers are from Authentique...(I'm pretty sure but I don't have the energy to go check....sorry!)

I do hope you joing us in the challenge. As always Diana gives away a $25.00 gift certificate to the store.

Be with you! Inky Impressions

Quick post today. I would like to share with you a card I created using Angelica w/ Lantern by Inky Impressions.
I used some MME papers from the lost and found collection. Colored Angelica with some copic markers. Added some Polar White flower soft to the ground to mimic snow.  I distressed the edges of all my paper. The sentiment is a rub-on.

Remember to check out the Inky Impressions store!

Thanks for looking today and hope you have a great one!

Wryn - Hoppy Birthday

Morning! I hope everybody had a nice long weekend. I know most of you had to work....but some of us didn't and boy was I soooo happy about that! I didn't get as much crafting as I would have liked done, but that's ok.  What I did get done is things for the upcoming months! I have so many little vacations planned I know my time is going to be stretched. So I figured I best get a jump on things as much as possible!!

Today I am going to attempt to color some faces and hair at lunch.  I usually just stay and have lunch in my office at work to do this but people then bug me, knowing I am on lunch. Then I get grouchy...just ask my bossman.  So I am going to sit in a restaurant and attempt this today. I'm thinking most of society will look at my strangely as they see me coloring lmao. They may even think there is something wrong with me...but oh well...I don't care. I need to use my time wisely!!! So fingers crossed the lighting is fine, I think where I am going it is...so I should be good!!

So did I tell you how much I love these little Wyrn's from Tiddly inks before? Well if not, I do. I think they are so cute and I love coloring their hair.

I of course used Copics to color her and then paired her up with my favorite MME papers. The sentiment is included when you get this particular Wyrnn.

That's about all for today. Don't forget, if you haven't already done so, I need your help with a litle contest for Crafter's Companion.

First: I need YOU to become a follower of their blog: http://crafterscompanion.blogspot.com/
Second: I need YOU to email Bindy at bindy@crafterscompanion.com
and let her know that I sent you!!

We will BOTH have a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to the Crafter's Companion store. If you have been to their website lately, you should check it out. They carry so many things that you probably didn't realize. You also probably didn't realize that some of your favorite stamps are from from Crafter's Companion!!  If all else fails, who can't use EZ Mount, they also have it!!\

Thanks for helping a girl out!

Hoppy Birthday

I need a stay-cation. Seriously, I just need 1 week just to be at home. I RARELY do that and boy could I use it!! I'm always going somewhere or doing something! Last night I was making a cake for my honey's bday, which is this weekend. I had this bright idea to bake a cake and go into work extra early and decorate his office (yes we work at the same place, different buildings and departments though...I rarely see him) Well, I did make a cake last night and then I went to flip it and totally broke them. My own fault...I should have put some parchment down but it didn't dawn on me until too late. The cake had andes mints in it. I thought about it afterwards  that the chocolate would sink and then they would stick to the bottom and thats exactly what happened. So I had to make ANOTHER cake. No issues this time around though. Needless to say I was up until way late baking. Then I woke up early and decorated his office. I really trashed the place, it was kind of hilarious. If your friends with me on facebook...I posted a picture. I had streamers and confetti all over. He was surprised and loved it!  His bday is actually on Sunday so now I have to figure out something for then too! Not sure I can top the decorations.

Enough about that....on to my card. Crafter's Companion is starting to carry a new line called Anthony and Burt...they really are adorable. They are just so fun and quirky.Fun to color too. They should be released in the next few days...so keep an eye out!

Sending Congrats - Inky

Good morning!  It's friday, it's friday!! I'm doing the happy dance because it's a 3 day weekend for me!! yay!  I have big plans too....oh yes. Saturday I'm going to play (a.k.a. stamp) with my buddy, Lisette and Samantha and then on Sunday I plan to tackle my daughters bedroom. I really do mean tackle too!!  I may need a hazmat suite...it's that bad, at least to me it is.  First, I'm going to try to ship her off somewhere for the day too. Cleaning her room, with her around is not an easy task. I kid you not.  She "NEEDS" everything. Seriously, if I don't take out at least 4 bags of stuff this weekend, I will not feel like I accomplished anything. However, in order to do that, she must not be there!!!! Love her...but she has got to go!!!

Today is my day to post over on the Inky Impressions Blog. I have used Angelica's Sled for my card. I had a pad of my favorite MME papers and used those for color inspiration. Oh and how lucky could I have been that I just picked up some ribbons from Papertrey Ink and one of them matched the paper PERFECTLY.  I love using that color (ocean, blue/green..whatever you want to call it) but never have ribbon to match it!

Don't forget to join us for the challenge here at Inky Impressions. This weeks challenge is to use punches or Dies!!  I love the scallop die that I used, it's from MFT!

Thanks for looking today. Check back later....I have a new post for iCopic!

Challenges:

Inky Challenge....

It's challenge day at Inky Impressions! This weeks challenge is to use punches or die-cuts. I used the uppercrest punch by Fiskars on my card.  What will you be using?????

I have used "Lili's First Day of School" from Inky Impressions today. The paper is from Basic Grey. Once again, I am not sure what I am going to use this card for so I left the sentiment off!! I do this alot!!  I can't help it. First of all, I hate finding sentiments as it is, secondly....I like keeping them empty so I can grab it for the specific occasion that I need it!!

Thanks for looking today and come play along with the Inky Challenge!

Just Because - TGF

**Second post today...scroll down for my post from magnolia-licious!

Today is my day over on The Greeting Farm blog!  I have an easy tutorial to demonstrate how I fix unclear stamped images.
When I stamped up Simply Anya, a little part of her hair didn't come out. I hate throwing images out, so if it is a small area I will fix it.

I use a Copic Multiliner. They come in different size tips. For these I usually use a .7 or .5.

Lightly draw the missing area in.

Afterwards color as you normally would. You should not get any smearing using the Copic Multiliner with your copic markers. However, if you do, you may want to try to heatset it.

I stamped the back of my card using the Made By set!

Copic colors used:
Hair: E50, E51, E53, E33
Skirt: RV10, R81, R83, R85
Shirt: YG11, YG13 and YG17
Skin: E000, E00, E11

Challenges:
Ladybug Crafts - Spring is in the Air
My Craft Spot - Girly Girl
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes

Valentines Treats -TGF

Don't know what I was thinking but it never really dawned on me until late this afternoon that tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I almost got the slacker mom of the year award!  I totally didn't get Valentine cards for my daughter's class.  So her and I were sitting here this evening discussing this slacker move of mine and I was going to take her to the store to pick some up. Then I thought, wouldn't it be cute to bake up some cookies, put them in a cello bag and add a quick, easy topper on them. Nothing fancy because...hello NO TIME!  Lucky for me I just got the cutest Flutter Heart stamp set in the mail a couple of days ago from The Greeting Farm!! It totally saved the day.  So off I went to bake some Chocolate Chip Cookies and M&M cookies. Side note - they were yummy!!!

**Note - the Owls are not from the Flutter heart set, everything else is**

Quick and easy treat bags for the class. You can purchase Flutter Heart by The Greeting Farm - HERE. In addition to these stamps it has some of the cutest banners!! You will definitely be seeing those around my blog soon!

I colored her up and popped her up from the page. The Sentiment I used is actually from the Lucky Bunny stamp set also by The Greeting Farm!  The paper is used is from MME. It's from one of the newer Kraft pads they have. I believe it's called Happy day???

That's all from me today!  Enjoy you Sunday!

Paint Fusion Frame

Years ago I played around with some tole painting. For awhile there I had so many pots painted I didn't know what to do with them! LOL  I enjoyed it but haven't done any in forever. So when Crafter's Companion asked us to play with the new Sheena Douglass Paint Fusion flowers I have to admit I was kinda of excited. I love to paint...and this mixes to of my favorite things together. Painting and stamping!!  I use ot freehand my flowers. Sheena Douglass makes it easy for you because you stamp it out and just follow the lines drawings.iIt really was simple and I had alot of fun coloring them. The best part is there are a few youtube videos out there that can help give you ideas on how to create these wonderful flowers.
I had this cheapo frame from Michaels. I think it was a buck. I painted it cream and it still looked cheap lol  It dawned on me that I had picked up some Crackle medium from my LSS a few weeks back. It's by Helmar and it is a 2 step process. Very simple to do and it didn't take all that long.

First you lay down the step one medium. It needs to dry for 10-15 mins. It's going to be very tacky to the touch. Thats ok...it's suppose to be!!

Next you lay on the Step 2 medium.  You put a nice coat on it and then let it dry overnight. As it's drying you will start to see the "crackle".

After it's all dry, you can take some ink and rub into the cracks to give it that distressed look. I used my Ranger Distress inks (Walnut stain).  I then sprayed it with a fixative so the color didn't come off!

The flowers that I used are actually ROSES!  However, I made them into Pansy. (Don't yell at me, I know the leaves aren't correct for pansies, but it's my frame and I can do what I want!! LOL)

Painting the flowers is quite simple. I used basic acrylic paints that you can pick up at your local craft store and a flat brush. I loaded one corner with yellow paint and the other corner with purple paint. Then on my palette blend the colors so they just join, but they don't really mix together. So you just go back and forth. Then you will place your flat brush on one of the petals and wiggle your way around. Keep doing this until all of your petals are painted. You do the same thing for the leaves except, you use green and yellow to load your brush.
I then cut out all my leaves and flowers. I glued them onto my frame using Helmars 450 glue, it's nice and strong!  I wanted to add some dimension to the flowers, I didn't want them to just be flat. So I used Scrapdots by Helmar to do that!

That's it!  Hope you enjoyed and you can find the entire Paint Fusion line HERE.

Thinking of You - Wryn

Good morning! I'm soooo excited, today is my friday!  No work for me tomorrow, I will be getting a nice long weekend!! Tomorrow I will be attending the National Builders Show...not sure exactly why...but I am hoping to get some inspiration for my home! ;-)

The best part is afterwards a bunch of us are going to go out for some dinner and maybe some drinks. Guess who is coming out with us???? Yup...my bloggie buddy, Wendy of Sugar Pea Designs!! Yay, can't wait to see her. We tease each other ALL the time because we really could be twins...so many similarities it's kinda scary!! lol Now if only I was as skinny as her...life would be grand!! teeehee!! I have met Wendy before, but it was for a class...she hasn't seen Tracy in a nightlife/nighttime setting..hopefully I don't scare her off! Bwwahahaha I do have the tendency to be somewhat of a wild child....yup. I am that girl! You know the girl in a bar who is loud...chatty....some may percieve said girl as obnoxious...but they are just jealous they are not like that girl!! ROFL!  Anyways, thats me! ;-) Of course, it takes a drink or two to get that girl out!! HAHA But once she is out, ask my husband...there is no putting her back!! Seriously. So beware Wendy......lmao

Today I would like to share with you a card using Wryn from Tiddly Inks!  These little Wyrn's are just so adorable!!! I love them all and a couple more were just released. I may need those too! ;-)

Looks like I used those MME papers again!  I'm telling you, their paper pads rock!  Colored up Wryn with some Copic markers. Stamped out the sentiment and cut it into three pieces.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The Pink one at the top is a felt flower I picked up in the dollar bin at Michaels. It's amazing what you can find at times in those dollar bins!

Challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks - Valentines
Truly Scrumptious - Love and Hearts
Digi Tuesday - Include digital element
Tiddly Inks - Valentine

Be mine - Magnolia

I just got back from playing Trivia with some friends at a local sports bar, which we try to do once a week...and we came in first place! yay us!  We actually come in the top 3 quite frequently...but it's always fun to get 1st!  It was crazy too, we had a 4 way tie (which NEVER happens) and we won the tie breaker. Question was, (it's always a number and something ridiculous for a tie breaker). How many square miles is Alabama??? We guessed 53,000...it was 52,423!!  Yay, we were that close! Pretty sweet, huh!

Talk about a simple card, huh?  hehe I cut out all those cute hearts with a spellbinders die that I just had to buy. I was trying to stay away from it, but it kept calling to me! Everything else is pretty self explanitory. The Tilda with rose is colored with Copics and the sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michaels!

Challenges:
Divas by Design - Love
7 Kids College Fund - Red, Pink, White
Stamp and create - Valentines
Magnolia Down Under- Love
Totally Tilda - Pink and Red

Thats all for tonight!

You're Awesome - Madden

I am so patting myself on the back! I managed to eat extremely well last night for the Superbowl. Yes, this is a huge accomplishment for me! I have none of that stuff called willpower..none I tell ya!  Great game last night. I am not a fan of either. I started watching rooting for the Giants but quickly changed my loyalty to the Patriots all because of an obnoxious Giants fan that happened to be sitting where...behind me of course!! Not only could he NOT sit, but he was loud, annoying and there! haha

This is the second year we went out to watch the Superbowl and I must say, I am not a fan. I would MUCH rather sit at my home or somebody elses, with friends and good food. It's so much more enjoyable.
So does my Madden look familiar? Yup, those little hair hightlights were defnitely inspired by yours truly. hehe My hair is more brown with red hightlights though! See it hereThe Greeting Farm's last release included Madden. I used my new copic N's for her hair. I never thought I needed or wanted them but I'm so glad that I picked them up recently. I love them.  My red highlights were done using R30's. The khaki colors are E50's.  I picked up a nice sentiment set from MFT that included the You're Awesome sentiment. The paper is from the Lost and Found MME collection.  I kept this card super simple, for me, and I don't know about you, but I love how it came out. It helps that Madden is super cute too!

Thanks for taking a peek!

2 for you! TGF

Everybody ready to hang out with friends, eat lots of food we shouldn't be eating and watch the Superbowl tonight?  I guess I am. I'm not a huge football fan, however, I do partake the in the Superbowl ritual with the rest.  We plan on hanging out with some friends.  My favorite part and I am sure many others....the commercials. I always find it funny how there is so much noise in the room while the game is on and the minute the commercials play...silence! LOL

Up until the superbowl - I will be playing in my room. I hadn't planned on it last night as I wasn't in the mood, but I put on some Vampire Dairies and I was good and happy crafting until the around 2 am! Anybody else watch VD? I know I have mentioned this before, but I just love that show. I dont know what is is...wait yes I do...Damon! haha   Needless to say, I watched 4 or 5 episodes of that and got some crafting done. My coloring mojo was WAY off...but I did get some card assembly done! hehe

These bunnies are from the set "Lucky Bunnies" from The Greeting Farm. They are so adorable and I LOVE that the sentiments are included with them. I HATE looking for sentiments. Argh...drives me mad! hehe

Btw - my 7 yr old daughter started (with my help of course) her own blog -Kare Bears Corner. She posted a card on it today and I am quite sure she would LOVE some love on it! ;-)

Have fun tonight and I hope your team wins....because I could careless who does! hahahha
