Thanks for the Lift...

**Scroll down or click HERE to for my SugarPea Designs post

So today is my introduction day on the Perfect Paper Crafting blog as one of their new DT Members. I have actually been using the product for a couple of months now and I have to say....I really like it!

To create my card I used a stamp from one of my new favorite lines by C.C. designs, Pollycraft stamps. This one is called Breeze. The sentiment is from one of my FAVORITE sets by SugarPea Designs - Blow Me Away. My medium of choice for coloring is copic markers and shading with pastel pencils or prisma color pencils.

When I make cards I love to use lots of mats and layers lately. The Perfect Layers Mini tools are the perfect tools for us card makers. They are so handy and just the perfect size!! They make even layers and mats every time! For today’s card I used 1/16th layer size Perfect Layers Mini tool, which is the smallest size. I used a lot of pattern paper on this card and wanted it to show, so the 1/16″ layers were the perfect size for this project.

My paper trimmer gets a little wobbly sometimes and I find my layers didn’t always match up right, but with the Perfect Layers Mini tools from Perfect Paper Crafting you don’t have to worry about that anymore.

After all my layers were cut, I then put my card together using foam squares between a few of the layers. I love the added dimension foam gives to a card. I finished it off with a perfect sentiment from SugarPea Designs and a simple button and twine bow.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and I have inspired you to try our perfect tools!

Autumn Blessings....

Good morning!!! Lucky me went to a crop ALL DAY Saturday and got in some much needed card making. We had a great time too. There were loads of giveaways and games. I won a nice zebra print carry-on bag. At the end of the day I ended up getting 8 cards completed and a couple images colored. I had so many images already colored and so many others that I wanted to get inked before the holidays ran by! Here is one of the cards that I completed:

The pumpkins are from CC Designs. The paper is from Authentique.  I used some Brown Vintage Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel.

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner??  I love this time of year but hate how fast it flys by. I also usually have my shopping close to being done by now and I have only bought 1 thing so far!!  As my kids and nieces and nephews get older it gets so difficult to buy for them!! I think I am going to open up the purse strings and hand out money trees this year....they can then go buy what they want.  Less stress on me too! ;-)

Have a good one!

Happy Birthday Cupcake! Paper Sundaes Challenge

*******Only a few more days left for my BLOG CANDY!! Check it out!!

Good Sunday morning to ya!  So I mentioned the other day that I was NOT doing anything this weekend. So far, I have stuck to the plan basically!  I did go on 2 bike rides, took my baby girl to a Fancy Nancy reading at Barne and Noble. The girls all looked so cute. They all went dressed up. We kept getting stopped and asked if she was in a dance recital.  Last night we sat around and watched movies. Today we will probably go on another bike ride, pool for some swimming and clean the house some. Boy does it need that!

My little Kare-bear is in the fancy little purple dress at the end...

We don't have any other big plans for Easter. Everybody was kind of busy, so I will sit around and eat my great-grandmas Easter Bread that I made by myself for the first time this year. My mom usually makes all the "old" recipes, but I have started to attempt them by myself.  Which has NOT been easy, let me tell you! First if you saw the way this recipes were written out...it's crazy lol  It's usually in ingredients only and usually it's lb's of everything because my grandma's use to make enough to feed an army! I swear!!   So last year my parents were living with me for a few months while they were waiting to close on their house, which ended up taking FOREVER. Needless to say we were together through a few important holidays so while my mom made the family goodies, I helped and  wrote down more accurate directions and actual amounts for the ingredients.  So my first attempt at Italian Easter Bread came out great, I must say.  Taste like grandmas...could have used a bit more Anise...but was still yummy!

Enough about me....Paper Sundaes is having a RECIPE challenge this week. We are being sponsored by Stamp and Create and we want you to see any two of these :  yellow, glitter, die cuts or pearls!!

This litte stamp from CC Designs is called  Swiss Pixie-Cupcake Brigitta.  I see she is sold out right now, but I am sure she will be getting her back in soon!  The sentiment is from Catslife Press and those fabby papers are from Echo Parks - Summer Days. I have been buying more and more 6x6 paper pads. I just love them for cardmaking. The print is always so perfect. Especially for paper piecing dresses, as I did here. The 6x6 papers are a scaled down design so they are great for paper piecing!  The solid CS came from my stash of papers. The circle is cut out with a spellbinder and matte is Lacey Circles spellbinder.  It's really hard to see in the photos but there is glitter all over this. Around the cardstock edges, on the flowers, on the cupcakes, on the wings....little bit on the dress...yup, she is glittered up!

Hope you can join us in the recipe challenge this week.  Check out the Paper Sundaes blog and all the other DT's fabulous work...there are some adorable cards this week!

Finally....

My sweet little girl from C.C.Designs. I just love how cute she looks sitting among the flowers. I used gamsol magic to create this card and put stickles on the flowers.
