Magnolia - Tissue Boxes

Oh my!!! I feel like its been forever since I have done a post! Esp. with my beloved magnolias!! I have been so busy with thing the last few weeks. This week I have been busy putting together a workshop that I am having on Friday at my house. They are so much work, sometimes I ask myself WHY???   One of things we are making are Tissue Box covers. They are so adorable. So my daughter saw one and she immediately said she wanted one for her teacher...and her teacher last year. I said, "ok...they're $5 bucks each" she said...ok, then ran into her room. I hear her holler...mom, is $9 dollars ok?? I said sure. So she came out and counted out 9 bucks and 75 cents...too funny. Of course, I didn't take her money!! But it was cute that she was willing to pay some big bucks for them!

Edwin with lights is colored with Copic Markers.  Sneaky Tilda is colored with Distress Inks.  You can pick up both of these stamps  from the Magnolia-licous store HERE. The seal is from Catslife Press.  All the papers are from Close to my Heart. The ribbon is also Close to my Heart.  You can't really see it in the pictures but I added stickles to the Seals and to the lights and present.  I got the tutorial from Splitcoast. It's super easy, especially if you have a Scor-Pal  (who Magnolia-licous's very own, Diana Crick created!!) It's fabulous!

Well it is getting late and I am beat! Don't forget to check out my BLOG CANDY!! It closes this Saturday!!!!!!!! It was for my 100th follower, but somehow I have managed to pick up 88 more followers since I posted it 3 weeks ago. So....if I end up hitting 200, I'm going to do another drawing for something else! ;-)  Also, if the linky isn't working right...(sorry my first time using it) just let me know in the comments. I am going to go in order and assign numbers so everybody is included!! :-)

Glinda the Good Witch- Magnolia

Hello!  The weekend is almost gone, so sad. I have been continueing to re-organize my craft room. If you didn't see my craft room post, you can view it HERE. It's pretty well organized, but there were still some nooks and crannys that needed unloaded, sorted, pitched or used. Because isn't that an interesting concept, to use what we buy!! ha! On that note, I bought some halloween papers after I pretty much thought I was done with making any halloween cards. So I figured I should USE the paper and make another halloween card. This tilda really isn't a witch, but she looks to me like a "Good Witch" kinda like Glinda from Oz. Hence my card.

I colored this cute lil' tilda with Distress Inks. I'm getting better at them! Yea! I did want her dress more orange, but I was scared to fool with it to much. So I stopped!  The flowers are prima. Not sure where I bought the witches hat charm from.  The paper is Creative Imaginations -by Samantha Walker. That cute little ticket sentiment is made by Ann over at Whimsy Stamps. You can purchase them HERE

Framed Magnolia

Oh my! What a busy weekend. A friend invited me up to Ft Wilderness at Disney. I was only going to stay one night, but ended up there for the entire weekend. We had such a good time. We left the boys home and it was a total girls weekend. We went to Disney's Not-so-Scary Halloween and got a bag full of candy (as if we needed that!). Then stuffed ourselves at the Food and Wine Event at Epcot on Saturday. I must say, that was delicious!!!!!!!  Epcot usually has food and beer from all the counties but this event has samples from all the regular countries and more.  We ate our way around Epcot, I'm not even kidding! We could hardly walk when we left!

I didn't have time for any stamping over the last few days, but I did have this little framed Magnolia finished but not blogged yet. I can't take credit for for the idea to frame it. My friend suggested that and I think it turned out great.

The background stamp is from Alota, you can pick it up in the Magnolia-licious shop HERE.  I didn't see Tilda w/Bike in Dianas shop at the moment, but I am sure if you ask, she would be able to get it for you.

I colored this image with Distress Inks (still practicing...not going to give up just yet!!) I picked up the frame from JoAnns. I think the inside is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.  My daughter took this and put it on her shelf in her room. Not before making her version. She gave this to her Kindergarten teacher for her birthday last week.

Be looking for some Sneak Peeks from the Elisabeth Bell Digi Collection this week. You can take  guesses of what the digi is on the blog EACH DAY. There will be one winner from each day for a total of 4 (mon-thurs) then the newest Digi will be released on Friday. The DT is also having a blog hop. I can't wait, I love lvoe love my card and can't wait to share it. It's going to be hard looking at it all week and not be able to share!!  So be sure to check ou the Digi Bells DT blog this week!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great evening.

Honey Bee Tilda

Goodbye Sunday...;-(  So sad to see you go so soon.  It was such a lovely day. 2 friends and I got together around 11 and have been stamping, playing and tossing around ideas all day. It was so fun but it flew by. Before we knew it, it was almost 7 o'clock!

I played some more with Distress inks. I have a project that is almost done, but I have to pick up something to go with it. But I did get one card finished! :-)))  Yes...in 8 hrs I got 1 card finished and 1 image colored! HA! When you see the image, you will understand! It took me forever. Had I done her in Copics I would have had it done super fast. But, no I had to do it in Distress....I don't know what I was thinking!

Anways, here is the ONE card I did get completed:

Honey Bee Tilda and Honey Pot was colored with Distress Inks. The paper is Queen Bee Paper pad from Pink Paislee. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's, Just buzzin' by. The flower is handmade using a scallop punch.

Wishing you Happiness - Tilda

Whew!! Boy oh boy has it been a crazy week.  Finally I am starting to feel better and actually feel like hanging out in my craft room. Off an on throughout the week I was practicing with my distress inks. I really like how some of them turned out. They take me alot longer to color than with the copics though. That is the only downside that I can see. Plus the fact that the watercolor paper that I like my local craft store clearanced it all out and I think my friend and I bought every sheet they have! haha So now I have to order it online. Anybody have any favorite watercolor papers they like to use???? Just curious....need to find another.

The following card I made is a little on the springy side. I didn't even check to see if it will qualify for any challenges. Most of the challenges out there are halloween, fall and autumn colors lately!   Anyways, I was super happy to get one of my Maggies out. My magnolias make me the happiest when I color them. Weird thing is at first I didn't like them lol  Gasp!! Now, I can't get enough of them. I do tend to lean towards the newer ones. Some of the older ones have those weird pudgy faces, they look frumpy. I LOVE all the new ones though!

So here is one of my few attempts at Distress Inks. I am a copic girl trying to break into the distress world.

What do you think of the background? I kinda like it. I think my little bush/flower turned out cute too.

I struggle with Black hair. I can not tell you how many times I have colored black hair only to throw it out. I just screw it up everytime. This is the first time I have tried black hair with distress. Not to bad. I think I could have added some darker color in the curls flowing down.  But all in all, not bad.

I did not write the colors down. However, off the top of my head I think I used:

Black soot, Wild Honey, Walnut stain, Vintage photo, tattered rose, Chipped Sapphire, faded jeans and peeled paint.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The border punch is MS. The paper is from a DCWV paper pack. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Thanks for looking,

Follow your Heart...

I'm not sure who it was  that inspired me to get the Ballerina Tilda. She wasn't on my list of must haves, yet here she is!! I'm so glad that I got her. She is so adorable!!

Sorry about the picture color, I was out on the boat all day today. It was so gorgeous out but extremely hot! Anyways, by the time I got home the sun was just starting to go down, so I ran outside to get some natural light, but as you can see that didn't work out so well. Maybe tomorrow I will redo the photo.

This is my very first card that I have made using the Distress Inks. I have been practicing with them for a couple of weeks now and have failed miserably!  I tried 5 different types of watercolor paper (maybe even more) I was at Michaels the night before and had a 50% off coupon and pretty much the whole store was on sale so I said...hrmm....let me try the Canson, 140lb paper. I saw a post recently and she used that. So I tried it and I LOVE it. I tried the "bee" paper. I like it because I can use the Copics and DI on it, but I couldnt get the right control with it. The ink seemed to dry to quickly for me. I love this Canson paper.

I was trying to get some shading in it, I like it ok. I still need some practice!

The paper is all from Close to my Heart. Flowers are Wild Orchids. Sentiment is SU'. Not sure where the charm came from. The Distress inks I used were:

Face - Tattered Rose and Antique linen
Dress- Broken China
Hair - Scattered Straw and Vintage photo
Shading was pumice stone

I'm posting this for the Just Magnolia Challenge

Thats about it.....Thanks for looking and I have some Blog Candy posted below this post. Become a follower! Closes July 10th!
