Wishing you Happiness - Tilda

Whew!! Boy oh boy has it been a crazy week.  Finally I am starting to feel better and actually feel like hanging out in my craft room. Off an on throughout the week I was practicing with my distress inks. I really like how some of them turned out. They take me alot longer to color than with the copics though. That is the only downside that I can see. Plus the fact that the watercolor paper that I like my local craft store clearanced it all out and I think my friend and I bought every sheet they have! haha So now I have to order it online. Anybody have any favorite watercolor papers they like to use???? Just curious....need to find another.

The following card I made is a little on the springy side. I didn't even check to see if it will qualify for any challenges. Most of the challenges out there are halloween, fall and autumn colors lately!   Anyways, I was super happy to get one of my Maggies out. My magnolias make me the happiest when I color them. Weird thing is at first I didn't like them lol  Gasp!! Now, I can't get enough of them. I do tend to lean towards the newer ones. Some of the older ones have those weird pudgy faces, they look frumpy. I LOVE all the new ones though!

So here is one of my few attempts at Distress Inks. I am a copic girl trying to break into the distress world.

What do you think of the background? I kinda like it. I think my little bush/flower turned out cute too.

I struggle with Black hair. I can not tell you how many times I have colored black hair only to throw it out. I just screw it up everytime. This is the first time I have tried black hair with distress. Not to bad. I think I could have added some darker color in the curls flowing down.  But all in all, not bad.

I did not write the colors down. However, off the top of my head I think I used:

Black soot, Wild Honey, Walnut stain, Vintage photo, tattered rose, Chipped Sapphire, faded jeans and peeled paint.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The border punch is MS. The paper is from a DCWV paper pack. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Thanks for looking,

Beautiful Tracy!! Love the color combo and your distress coloring is fabulous!! I keep meaning to try coloring with my distress inks, but I'm a little intimidated. I've just got to find the time to play around with them. Hugs, Rosemary

Wow! Such a beautiful card! Those colors are amazing and I never would have dreamed that you achieved them with Distress Inks rather than Copics. I also love the background details that you added by hand. Gorgeous!
