Happy Bday Dad - Paper Sundaes and Sentimental Sundays DT

Good morning! Welcome to a the latest challenges over at Paper Sundaes and Sentimental Sundays. I know I said I probably wouldn't have anything to post this week, but I did get a chance to get one card made! ha! Next week will be much more hectic as I will be planning a birthday party for my Brother. I have ALOT of stuff to do for that....so that means limited time in my craft room and to be honest, for me...card making is messy! LOL  I do NOT need the added stress of cleaning up after myself! I  already have to clean up after 2 kids and a hubby.

Speaking of cleaning up after kids, my wonderful daughters room is a disaster. She nicely blamed it on her friends and cousin, however I know better. Yes they were over weeks ago and yes they seem to find anything that is in her room to bring out...but...it wasn't that messy when they left!!  So I cleaned it up last week. Now...there have been NO other kids in that room in 2 weeks and the room is a mess again!! She is still telling me it's her friends...I'm like...little girl....NO kids have been over!!!  How can it possibly be from your friends??? lol

So my little one is at her grandmas and this morning I went in and took 3 giant trash bags of "Stuff" out of her room. She kept pinky promising me to clean it...but nothing was happening. Honestly if she notices the stuff is gone it will surprise me...and seriously...I could have taken another 3 bags out!!! (or more!)  That doesn't include the piles of laundry I can take from her room Daily. I swear that girl changes 4-6 times from the time she gets home from school until she goes to bed. Then she throws it on the ground and I get to figure out what is clean and dirty! argh! I have a never ending pile of laundry in this house!!

Ok enough about that - I am done venting! hahaha  On to my card for this weeks challenge at Paper Sundaes and Sentimental Sundays.

This weeks Challenge at Paper Sundaes is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and you are to use Masculine Colors. It doesn't have to be a masculine card...just colors. I choose to do both because yesterday was my hubbys birthday! ;-)   I am stretching it using this card for the Sentimental Sundays challenge- it's an inspirational photo (lighthouse with the waves crashing up on it) However, I do not have much in turns of nautical and the colors are in the photo as is water...so that was my inspiration and I'm sticking to it!  Did you know that every sunday on the Sentimental Sundays blog she has  free sentiments and qoutes available for download???? We do and they are usually fabulous ones...so be sure to check us out!!

Details on my card - I colored it with Copics and used some liquid glass on the water to make it look like water. The frame is from Spellbinders (lacey squares). Not much else going on. This is my take on a Clean and Simple card! I am not very good at those and I always want to add more. But I held back, especially because it was a "manly" card and I kinda like it!

Thanks for looking and as always I so enjoy your comments. I try to get to your blogs...but sometimes TIME doesn't allow it. I need more hours in a day!!!
