Think Pink - Blog Hop

It's time for a Magnolia-Licious Blog hop! This months theme is "Think Pink".  If you arrived here from Mindy's Blog, you are on the right track. If not, you might want to start at the beginning with the Magnolia-Licious Hightlights because I am certain you will not want to miss all the sweet treats that the DT have for you this month!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) is an annual international health campaign organized by major companies every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.  The Pink Ribbon symbol was used in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder as the symbol of The Breast Cancer Research Fund she founded and is used to symbolize the fight against the disease.  We also honor those that have fought the battle and who are currently fighting the battle while raising awareness to ALL women to be aware of the symptoms and to be proactive against the disease.   Want to find out more?  The National Breast Cancer Foundation HERE for those in the US and globally at the PinkRibbon.org site HERE!
  • In 2011 Nearly 1.5 million women across the world were told they had breast cancer
  • One-third of breast cancer deaths can be decreased with early detection and treatment
  • In the US 1 out of 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over their lifetime, an estimated 527 women are diagnosed in the US with breast cancer each day
The Magnolia-licious DT wants to help promote awareness/early detection and share what this Think Pink Month is about with ALL women!  We also want to honor all of those women that have or are currently fighting this disease and show our support in the fight!!  To show our support the DT has planned our own “Think Pink” Celebration and we hope you can all join in.  Each DT gal has created some Sweet-PINK treats and PINK Packaging to match using those beautiful Magnolia images.  You can find some Magnolia stamps that were created specifically for Pink Ribbon Awareness at Magnolia-licious   .  So have fun hopping along to see all the fabulous Pink-a-licious Creations and make sure to stop back by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to join in on the fun too!

For my treat box I used Tilda with Christmas Baking. She is currently available in the store. I colored her with Copic markers. The Breast Cancer Awareness was hand drawn by myself. I then colored it and cut it out.

I created the box myself. I knew I wanted a rectangular box, so I just sketched some dimensions and made the box lid a tad bigger. It was the perfect size for my chocolate chip cookies!

So next on the hop is going to be Patti Jo!!  So hop on over to her blog and see what sweets she is sharing!

YNS - Sneak Peak

I'm late! I'm Late....sorry I went away for the weekend and forgot to schedule this little Sneak Peak from YNS!  It was a crazy weekend!!  We go to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando every year. We always try to go on a Thursday night because Friday and Saturdays are MAD PACKED!  This year I invited my teamie, Wendy and her husband, to join us. Wendy lives about 2 hours away from me, but when I get to Orlando I try to hook up with her because she is amazing and I am her Stalker..lol  She has mad crazy craftin' skillz!

So we get to the park and about 15 mins later it starts pouring. Being Floridians we could tell this rain wasn't going anywhere...anytime soon. We were SOAKED...walking in ankle deep water...and the water was pouring down our faces so much that we couldn't see!! It was just crazy and it never stopped...lol  Needless to say, my phone and camera were not working, however, yesterday my phone FINALLY must have dried out and it is now somewhat working. I think my phone bothered me the most!  Rain and all we just made the best of it and ended up having a great time - wet and all.

The rain did taper off some towards the end of the night. Then somebody, I won't mention any names, decided we should run through the fountains....so we did. Well apparently we actually were drier than we though we were....because after that we were once again soaked.  So there is my HHN Story....now on to the Your Next Stamp Sneak Peaks...

I do believe this is the FIRST ever NON-colored card on my blog!!!! Crazy, right? This new set is called Full of Color. I stamped the leaves and acorn onto patterned paper and cut them out. They are pop dotted for dimension. The sentiment is also from this set.  The little "scrap" pieces of paper are actually Washi Tape. I have SO MUCH of this stuff and finally got a chance to use it!!

Day 2 of sneak peaks are up on the blog - come on over to check them out. A new Artist has joined the YNS family too!

Thanks for looking!

Coffin Treat Box

Morning! Hope everybody had a great weekend. I had a great weekend that started with dinner and drinks with friends on friday and then some stamping fun with my budyd, Lisette on Saturday.  I had so much to get caught up on that Sunday I literally sat down and stamped and put together a few projects ALL DAY!  Not to mention I  managed to watch an entire season of Breaking Bad. Great show - btw! Nothing else exciting went on. Here is one of things that I created.

I had to throw it together. I had another image colored and some ideas going through my head, however, when I went to get it out and started to tell Lisette about it, she started to laugh and proceeded to show me a project that she had just done, using the SAME image and colored in the SAME colors...whats the chance of that?  So I decided to go with something else and I'm glad that I did, because I do like how it came together.

The Magnolia-Licious Dt are making anything Halloween except cards this week.  You have to check out all the projects on the Magnolia-licious Highlights Blog, there are some gorgeous creations.

I created a Coffin treat box, the template came from Martha Stewart. you can find it here.   I used Dracula Edwin for the front of the box.  Dracula Edwin is currently out of stock in the Magnolia-licious Store.  The Twine is from the Ribbon Carousel, the paper is from my stash.

Black - W2, W4, W5, W7, W9, 100
Skin - E000, E00, E11, R11

Fun Friday - Treat Box

Good morning!  It's time for YNS Fun Friday!  This month we are also showcasing ways we organize things. Here's the thing, how does an unorganized person showcase that?? hahaha  Ok  I am not that unorganized....but I don't have anything that stores my items that is pretty...except my Ribbon Carousel.  I LOVE my Ribbon Carousel not only does it look pretty, it's functional and doesn't take up that much space. It's about a 7x7 square. Thats it!  So I have this bad boy sitting right at my workspace.

Did I mention how purdy it is????

Is this not just the most cutest way to store your ribbon? I bought this from The Ribbon Carousel and she even sells the spools that go along with it. Love the look, soooooo cute and tidy!

Now on to my project. this week I decided to make a Treat Box.  I like to make little boxes or other types of projects for a few of my co-workers for Halloween. This box called the, 2,5,7,10 box is quite simple and may be this years gift.

I have used the Creepy Crawly set from Your Next Stamp along with the Trick or Treat sentiment.

Copic Colors:
Hair/black stripes - C3, C5, C7, C9, 100
Purple - V00, V12, V15, V17
Jeans - B91, B93, B95, W4
Skin - E000, E00, E11

Thanks for looking!!

Disclaimer: I currently design for The Ribbon Carousel, however, I bought my first carousel well before I was ever on the design team. I truly do love the design and function of it. That is my opinion alone, I was not asked to say that or given any product to do so! I found a great product for organizing things and wanted to share it with my friends and followers!  Thank you!!!

Hi There -

Good morning! It's time for another Ribbon Carousel Challenge!!
This week our favorite Aussie Crewmate Danielle Daws is challenging us to create a project using fall colors. Yep. Summer is coming to and end so lets get ready for the Fall!  It can't get here soon enough for this Floridian. I'm sick of the hot weather.....could weather would be very welcomed right about now.

This week I used a card that I colored up a VERY long time ago. I'm not especially thrilled with the coloring, but I love the stamp. I'm not usually a fan of the "older" magnolias. I think they have funky faces, but I do like this one. Not exactly sure why, but it grew on me.  The paper is from Jillybean Soup - Country Pumpkin Chowder. I used some Red Jute to make a bow. The wood button is from Prima.

If my memory serves me correct - I used the following Copic Colors:
Skin - E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: E42, E43, E44, E47
Shirt:  YG61, YG65, YG68, E99
Scarf - R22, R24, R29, W4
Jeans: B91, B93, B95
Shoes: E42, E44, E43, E47
Grass- E44, YG61, YG63, YG67

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over the Ribbon Carousel Blog to see the other DT creations and We hope you play along with us this week!
