Birthday Boy...

I have a 10 year old son and I am always trying to find a stamp that is suitable for either him or his friends. I found this cutie over at Mo's Digital Pencil . It's a pre-teen playing video games and he is so stinkin' cute!

I dont know why but he was so much fun to color. I love my Rubbah' Stamps, but I how can you pass up a digital stamp when they look like this!! Mo Mannings designs are just so cute, I have a couple more that I hope to complete over the weekend.

Thanks for looking and I have blog candy posted to the left.  Become a follower and you will be in the running.

Challenges - Sketch Saturday

Thanks for looking,

Happy Birthday Auntie!

My husbands aunts birthday is next week (so is mine!). She LOVES cats! I was looking at Mo's Digital Pencil the other day. I have never used a "digital" stamp. I wasn't sure how I would like them because it's not really stamping! However, once you see some of her designs - you will want to try a digital stamp! I love her images. They are cute, whimisical, you can make them the size you want, you can print them on your favorite CS or Watercolor paper. Once I figured all that out, I was good to go. So this is one ofs the images I bought and the card I made.....

First, let me apologize for the lighting again!  I can't help it, in my house sitting down to stamp is a luxury and it usually happens late at night. I get antsy when I finish a card and want it posted right then!
I used Distress Inks on this digi.  Don't be too harsh on me! It's only my 2nd card posted using them! Still practicing!

I used Stickles on the Crown and the presents bow.

Thanks For Looking!

Just Because....

It's 1:30 a.m. and I don't have a heck of a lot to say!!  So I'll just get to it.  I used a Tilda holding wildflowers, I think! She is adorable! I think I say that about all my Tilda's though. But it is true.....

Of course because it is soooooo very late, the lighting in my craft room isn't the best. Please forgive me!!!

She is colored with Copics. I used Flower Soft on the wildflowers. The flowers are from Wild Orchids.

You can see the Flower Soft pretty well here!

Copics that I used.

The Sketch is from the Sweet Stop Sketches and I am using it for the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog

Wishing you well....

I had a VERY productive weekend. I actually got some solid play time in this weekend. It was wonderful. I have a Close to my Heart workshop coming up on Thurs. I had all the cards made, but had to cut out all the papers for everybody . It's a very time consuming task but makes it so much easier to hold the workshop when everything is cut and prepared. The cards turned out cute...I'll post those later.

This is my first Whiff of Joy stamp. I can see those being my next obsession.

I created this for the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog. I used Copics to color, Wild Orchids flowers, Sentiment is from CTMH and the papers are from CTMH. Punch is MS.

Thanks for looking and  I have blog candy! To see it click on Tracys blog candy to the left!

Follow your Heart...

I'm not sure who it was  that inspired me to get the Ballerina Tilda. She wasn't on my list of must haves, yet here she is!! I'm so glad that I got her. She is so adorable!!

Sorry about the picture color, I was out on the boat all day today. It was so gorgeous out but extremely hot! Anyways, by the time I got home the sun was just starting to go down, so I ran outside to get some natural light, but as you can see that didn't work out so well. Maybe tomorrow I will redo the photo.

This is my very first card that I have made using the Distress Inks. I have been practicing with them for a couple of weeks now and have failed miserably!  I tried 5 different types of watercolor paper (maybe even more) I was at Michaels the night before and had a 50% off coupon and pretty much the whole store was on sale so I said...hrmm....let me try the Canson, 140lb paper. I saw a post recently and she used that. So I tried it and I LOVE it. I tried the "bee" paper. I like it because I can use the Copics and DI on it, but I couldnt get the right control with it. The ink seemed to dry to quickly for me. I love this Canson paper.

I was trying to get some shading in it, I like it ok. I still need some practice!

The paper is all from Close to my Heart. Flowers are Wild Orchids. Sentiment is SU'. Not sure where the charm came from. The Distress inks I used were:

Face - Tattered Rose and Antique linen
Dress- Broken China
Hair - Scattered Straw and Vintage photo
Shading was pumice stone

I'm posting this for the Just Magnolia Challenge

Thats about it.....Thanks for looking and I have some Blog Candy posted below this post. Become a follower! Closes July 10th!

So big........

Good Morning blog world.............

I had a great deal of difficulty working with this tilda w/open fence.  It was SO very large that it took up so much of the card that there wasn't much room for embellishments. At first I didn't have the flowers and I kept looking at it knowing it needed something else.  So once I added the flowers I liked it a bit more. Then I saw I had NO glitter on the card and what is a card without glitter! So, I added a little bit of stickles to the flowers. At first I glob it just on the edges, I didn't like that. So then I took a paint brush and spread it around...I still didn't like it.  See below! I don't think I would do that again, but it was one of those things that once it was done, it was done! There was no going back. I only had those white roses, so I couldn't replace them!  So they went on the card and another person will probably not think they look strange...so that is the person who will get this card! haha  Moral of the story, sometimes Glitter is not the answer!! Even though my 5 yr old daughter would argue that point!

I didn't add a sentiment on it yet. Sometimes I don't add them right away and I wait until I need it for a certain occasion and add it on then!

I colored tilda with Copic markers.  All the papers are from Close to my Heart. Border punch is MS. Flowers are Wild Orchids. Stay tuned and become a follower....I'm going to have BLOG CANDY in the next 2 days!! I can't wait! Hopefully I will get it up tomorrow.......

Thinking of you.......

Yeah! I finally got to play a little today. I had such a nice weekend, we didn't have many plans this weekend, which was such a welcomed change. Right now Sunny South Florida is just way to hot and humid to go outside, unless your one of the lucky ones that have a pool on your patio. I do not YET!  I am hoping to get that pool by next year....have to see how the job goes though. They are doing layoffs at work. My hubby and I should be ok....but I'm not getting to confident. So.....until we know...no pool ;-(  Funny thing is, we had a little pool out back, one of those cheap little wal-mart things. We were going to get it in working condition today. On Friday night, a big storm came through and lifted up the pool and crushed it....Figures!  Now it's getting lugged out to the garbage ;-(

It's ok though, it just made me stay in the house all weekend and pull out my stamps. I also got to use some of my new flowers that i just bought. So I was a happy camper!

The stamped image is from Magnolia. It's the bridesmaid Tilda. I purchased it from http://www.stampingscrapping.com/ She is colored with Copic markers. I used flower soft on the flowers that she is holding. Roses are from Wild Orchids. Paper is from CTMH and I'm not sure where else!! The border was punched with a MS border punch. Sentiment is from SU.

Don't you just love Easel cards??? There some of my favorite cards to make.

Thanks for looking and as always your comments are appreciated.

Corn and Black Bean Salsa

I love salsa! I love all sorts of salsas. I'm not big on too much heat, I am more of a mild Salsa kinda person. The following recipe can be made with a little heat or lots of heat....just add more jalapenos.

Here is what you need:

1-2 cans of black beans - rinsed and drained
2 cups frozen and thawed corn
1/2 sweet onion, diced
2 juicy tomatoes, diced
1-2 jalapenos (depending on amt of heat you want)
1/2 bunch of Cilantro
1 - lemon or lime
2 TB vinegar
1 clove minced garlic
1/4 ts. ground cumin
salt
pepper

First thaw your corn, rinse and drain your black beans. Dump it all in a large bowl. Chop up your onions, tomatoes and jalapenos. I only put 1/2 of the jalapeno in mine. I later went back and put the other half in it. I have never made anything with Jalapenos and I won't lie, I was scared!!!  I thought for sure it was going to be super hot and I wasn't going to be able to handle it!! However, as I found out, that wasn't the case, so I added the other half. Next time I make it, I may put in more.....ya never know!

I'm not scared of you little Jalapeno........!!!

So back to the recipe.  Chop up the cilantro add everything to the corn and black beans. Stir it up. Next add 1 clove of garlic, minced. (I used my handy dandy pampered chef gadget, love that thing). Add the juice of 1 lemon or lime. My preference is lime, but I used a lemon for this batch. Pretty much the same results....they both are great.

Finally add the cumin, vinegar, dash of salt and pepper. Mix it all up really good. Let it sit out on the counter for a couple hours for all the flavors to mingle. Serve with Tortilla chips. Yummmmy!  It's so good!

Enjoy!

Flowers!!!

I finally broke down and placed an order for some Wild Orchids Flowers. I know, I know....how did I wait this long??? Well, if you seen my flower stash, you would see why!!!  I have flowers coming out of my ears right now.  I didn't hold back when I ordered from Wild Orchids either...oh sure I could have gotten plenty more.....but I made a nice dent! Now I just have to find the time to get busy!

We went away this past week for a few days to Orlando. We tossed back and forth a few places to stay including Wilderness Lodge at Disney, Carribbean Resort at Disney and just plain old Hilton Orlando on International Drive. We went with the Hilton for cost and location. Totally NOT dissappointed, actually I can not wait to go back. The pool was glorious, the lazy river divine!  We had a such a nice weekend. The weather was great til about lunch.....the the storms would roll in.  No fear, we had lunch, by the time we got back the weather was great again (typical Florida!) and we went back to the pool.

This was the first time we didn't go to a park when in Orlando. I have to say, it was great! I enjoyed it so much more than normal. Planning on going back again in August!.

Now on to cards. I will definitely get some play time this weekend. We have no plans and hubby has class on Saturday....;-)  So I should have some new post for you on the weekend!
